On July 7, 2012 Westfield Blue won the 9U district 12 championship in Springfield by defeating Cranford 5-2. The team went 3-1 in pool play and then won the next three games in playoffs to capture the title. Westfield Blue U9 will now participate in the state tournament in Hazlet at the end of the month. Team members are: Jake Bencivenga, Luke Engelke, Ryan Pettit, Chris Ho, Colin Brancatella, Jeremy Kornfeld, Ian Gannaway, Nic Gambello, Jason Petruzzi, Colby Shovlin, Holden Grantz and Will Skoletsky. The team coaches are Gil Engelke, Bob Brancatella, Carl Gambello and Ron Shovlin.
