Westfield Flag Football Minicamp To Welcome Children With Special Needs
The free Westfield Champions minicamp at Kehler Stadium will offer 1:1 instruction for children ages 5-15.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield PAL is planning a free flag football minicamp for children with special needs later this month at Kehler Stadium in Westfield.
The event, called Westfield Champions, is scheduled for Sunday, April 19, from 3 to 4 p.m. It is open to Westfield children ages 5 to 15 with special needs.
The minicamp will provide 1:1 instruction as participants move through stations focused on passing, catching, rushing and defense.

The program is also intended to give children time with friends, neighbors and classmates. No prior knowledge or football experience is necessary.
Officers from the Westfield Police Department will be in attendance.

There is no cost to attend, but registration is necessary using the Google Form at forms.gle/poWcHGmDbfqCsSRE6.
Families are asked to have children dress comfortably, wear sneakers or cleats, and bring a water bottle, according to the announcement. A healthy snack will be provided for all participants.
The minicamp is part of Westfield Champions, a program highlighted as serving children with special needs through flag football instruction and community participation. The format centers on skill-building while keeping the setting accessible for children who may be new to the sport.
