Westfield Girls Sell Lemonade For School’s Outdoor Classroom

Annabel Lang, Alyssa Catalano, Emelia Dengler and Greta Pinto set up a lemonade stand and donated all money raised to Jefferson Elementary.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Four Westfield girls and kidpreneurs came together one sunny June day to sell lemonade and give back to their school.

Annabel Lang, Alyssa Catalano, Emelia Dengler and Greta Pinto decided to set up a lemonade stand near the intersection of Boynton Avenue and Boynton Court to donate the proceeds to their school. Specifically to Jefferson Elementary School’s outdoor classroom and vegetable garden project.

They made lemonade and even baked scones to sell for $1. The girls also had water and dog treats to offer to locals walking their dogs.

"They were so surprised by the response,” said Dengler’s mom Christina. “A lot of people stopped in their cars and some even donated money.”

In total they raised $43.40, which they presented along with letters and pictures to Jefferson Elementary School Principal, Dr. Susie Hung.
