Westfield High School Nominated For Multiple NJ Awards

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield High School is among those nominated for Paper Mill Playhouse's 2023 statewide Rising Star Awards.

Each year, schools compete to get their musicals noticed.

This year's nominees were announced on May 2. The winners will be announced live on June 13.

Westfield High School was nominated in multiple categories in connection with the musical "Sunday In The Park With George" including:

• Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical (Honorable Mention)
• Outstanding Leading Performer In A Female-Identified Role - Bella Jarecki as “Dot/Marie”
• Outstanding Supporting Performer In A Male-Identified Role - Evan Leone as “George Seurat”
• Outstanding Performance By A Chorus
• Outstanding Achievement By A Teacher Or Outside Director - Daniel Devlin (Honorable Mention)
• Outstanding Achievement In Music Direction - John Brzozowski
• Outstanding Lighting Achievement - Jack Frankola (Honorable Mention)
• Outstanding Costuming Achievement - Hannah Stavin, Suzanna Rogers
• Student Achievement Award - Set Design Crew, Production Stage Manager Ryan Karlin, and Music Director Sophie Havens

Award Announcements

Tickets to the live Rising Star Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, June 13 will be made available to final nominees via their school contact on May 4.

The Rising Star Awards will be live-streamed for free on Tuesday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m. Visit PaperMill.org for more information and log-in details.

Scholarship applicants and recipients will be notified by email the week of May 8.
