WESTFIELD, NJ — Apparently, Westfield native Jesse Hershkowitz isn't just a musician who raps about surviving cancer. On Wednesday, he was among a group of people who helped pull an SUV off a woman after a crash at an intersection in Manhattan.

A member of a Westfield Facebook group posted Wednesday, "Westfield native Jesse Hershkowitz helped save a victim who was hit by a car today at 2nd. Ave & 50th St. in Manhattan. Jesse and other Good Samaritans all jumped in and lifted the SUV off the ground to allow others to pull her out. Ch.7 Eyewitness News just carried an interview with Jesse on the 11 PM news. Go Jesse!!"

In the report, Hershkowitz said, "There was about five of us on the passenger side. We all lifted it up, rolled it on two wheels forward, just so it would clear the lady."

One person responded to the Facebook post by calling Hershkowitz "the most kind human being you care to meet," and praising his family.

Another said that her family used to listen to Hershkowitz's music when a family member was fighting cancer.

The 57-year-old woman who was struck by the car was taken to the hospital and was recovering, ABC said.
