Westfield Approves $600K Replacement Of Memorial Pool Filtration System

The improvements will include all work, materials, and appurtenances necessary, according to the ordinance.

WESTFIELD, NJ — As summer comes to a close, Westfield recently approved the $600,000 replacement of the pool filtration systems at Memorial Pool.

The Town Council approved the $600,000 special bond ordinance at their Aug. 13 meeting.

The replacement of the pool filtration systems was planned in the "2024 capitol budget and the debt service will be covered by the pool utility," said Councilwoman Linda Habgood.

The improvements will include all work, materials and appurtenances necessary, according to the ordinance.

The Westfield Memorial Pool and Aquatic Complex is a public swim facility open to both Westfield and non-Westfield residents.

The Pool Complex offers:

  • 50-meter 165-foot by 75-foot main pool
  • 8-lane competitive lap pool
  • Diving pool
  • Two large water slides
  • 2 foot deep children's training pool
  • Zero-entry children's pool
  • Newly renovated splash pad connected to the zero-entry pool
  • Snack bar
  • Picnic area
  • Playground with private access only to pool patrons
  • Large grass areas for private space

The pool and complex also offers a variety of activities including:

  • Adaptive Swim Classes
  • Backyard Games
  • Family Fun Nights
  • Marlins Swim Teams
  • Swim Lessons
