Westfield Students To Perform With Regional Chorus And Orchestra
Performances are scheduled for January.

WESTFIELD, NJ - Eighteen Westfield High School student musicians have been selected to perform with the Central Jersey Music Educators Association (CJMEA) Region II orchestra and chorus.
The students were chosen after rigorous auditions that included the top musical talent from high schools in Hunterdon, Monmouth, Mercer, Somerset, Middlesex and Union counties.
Senior Kevin Li (violin), sophomore Kelly Eagan (bass) and freshman Amy Xiao (violin) will perform with the CJMEA Region II Orchestra at a concert on Jan. 6.

“Their hard work was apparent and they represented the WHS music department well [at the auditions],”says WHS Orchestra Director Craig Stanton.
Selected to perform with the CJMEA Region II Chorus are the following student vocalists:

- Seniors Charlotte Geary, Joseph Maldonado who scored 1 st in the Tenor 2 Section, and Matthew Siroty who scored 1 st in the Tenor 1 Section and tied for the highest score overall.
- Juniors Daniel Andrade, Roselyne Garabete, Vincent Mora and Rachel Seiden who scored 4 th in the Alto 2 Section.
- Sophomores Russell Cohen, Sam Horvath, Zaria Katz, Matthew Meixner who scored 4 th in the Tenor 1 Section, and Aishik Palit.
- Freshmen Anna D’Angelo, Kayla Louison, and Joshua Madera who scored 2nd in the Tenor 2 Section.
“Out of the hundreds who auditioned from Central Jersey, Westfield had 15 students accepted. These students worked hard to prepare an audition consisting of scales, solo, and quintet,” Westfield High School Choral Director John Brzozowki said. “These talented singers will perform at Monroe High School on Jan. 27.”
