Westfield Students Recite 'I Have A Dream'

Tamaques School students honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by reciting a portion of his historic speech.

WESTFIELD, NJ - First graders at Tamaques School in Westfield honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by reciting a portion of his “I Have a Dream” speech.

The students also discussed the meaning of King’s oration at the March on Washington in August 1963.

When asked what the civil rights leader meant when he said “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” One student said it was like "living your inside out."
