Westfield Students Turned To Wax
Elementary school students were transformed into abolitionists, inventors and activists.
WESTFIELD, NJ - A plethora of historical figures were recreated through acts of research and performance as the Westfield elementary schools hosted a Wax Museum on Jan. 18.
Lots of research and preparation go into the a “Wax Museum” at elementary schools in Westfield, where students dress as and answer questions about the famous person they are portraying. Fifth graders at Wilson School had notable personages that included Olivia DiGregorio as Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai, represented the first photo, Megan Warmington as American abolitionist Harriet Tubman, represented in the second photo, and Thomas Holland as American inventor and businessman Thomas Edison, represented in the third photo.
