In honor of Earth Day, Westfield is inviting volunteers to sign up for a town-wide clean-up event which will be held on Saturday, April 27th from 10:00 a.m. to noon, with a rain date of April 28th.
Volunteers who are willing to donate a little time and demonstrate civic pride are encouraged to come out to one of the following locations where a member of the Town Council or Green Team will coordinate clean-up activities: Brightwood Park, Clark Park, Gumbert Park (behind the ballfields), Maryland Avenue at Grandview Avenue, Grove Street at Grandview Avenue, Dunham Avenue Bird Sanctuary (meet at 800 block of Summit Avenue), Northside Rail Station, Southside Rail Station or Mindowaskin Park (in partnership with Friends of Mindowaskin Park whose own clean-up and planting has been scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.) Volunteers are asked to bring with them a pair of gloves and rakes, if possible.
Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops or other groups in need of fulfilling community service requirements are welcome to participate (minors do need to be supervised by a parent or adult guardian).

Individuals, groups or families interested in registering for the clean-up event are encouraged to send their names and location you plan to assist via email to Mayor@westfieldnj.gov so that the Town may know how many volunteers to anticipate. Even if you do not register, drop-ins certainly will be welcomed as well.
