Rain Postpones Westfield's Sweet Sounds Downtown Music Festival

A severe thunderstorm warning and flood advisory remain in effect for Westfield.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield's Sweet Sounds Downtown Music Festival is being postponed due to a severe thunderstorm watch on Tuesday.

The festival will be moved to Wednesday, July 26, announced Downtown Westfield.

"As much as we are eager to let the show go on, your safety is our top priority. Join us downtown tomorrow for our postponed performances by The Wag and Say It Ain't Scorcho - A Weezer Tribute Band," wrote Westfield NJ - Downtown.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Westfield through 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday and a severe thunderstorm watch through 8 p.m.

A flood advisory is also in effect through 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Tuesday Afternoon: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 4 p.m. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 87. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
