Hodara launched the real estate group last year after receiving his Massachusetts broker's license in order to provide a college student owned and operated real estate environment. He said the idea behind the reality show was to inspire his peers and others who may be looking to become entrepreneurs.
"The whole point is to be inspirational," Hodara said. "There is a terrible recession going on and we want to inspire people to be entrepreneurs."
Hodara noted that his company has been seeing more success in the last year, including completing several million dollar deals, and he is hoping to share that with people through the series. Currently he has no sponsors and the eight episode web show is being produced by his in-house videographer. Hodara said he is in discussions with television production companies about moving the show to being a full reality show.
The rapper Sam Adams will be appearing in today's debut show, which will also include following the realtors on a showing. Hodara said in the episode, cameras will follow the group as they travel to New Orleans to view the Gulf Coast oil spill. A future episode will include the group's participation in a Chicago panel discussion. The shows will be aired shortly after taping and each last about 10 minutes without commercial interruption.
Hodara said the group will continue to use the web series as a grassroots method of promoting their businesses and getting the word out. They plan on various online and traditional practices to grow a fan base for the new show.
"All we are trying to do is build a fan base," he said. "The future ways to build a fan case includes throwing a concert."
