World Yoga Day Event To Benefit The Westfield Area YMCA’S Annual Support Campaign

WORLD YOGA DAY EVENT TO BENEFIT THE WESTFIELD AREA YMCA'S ANNUAL SUPPORT CAMPAIGN

The Westfield Area YMCA invites the community to celebrate World Yoga Day with a theme of “Peaceful Warrior,” on Sunday, February 26th from 3:15 pm-5:15pm in the Weldon Room located at the Main Y Facility, 220 Clark Street.

Participants will focus on achieving and sharing inner peace using calming breathing techniques and soothing yoga meditation. This will be followed by a choice of yoga practice – restorative, chair yoga or lively asanas. All will come together for powerful Yoga nidra (deep relaxation) and a time for discussion. This special event is appropriate for first-time yoga attendees as well as those who have been practicing for many years.

A $25 contribution benefits the Y’s Annual Support Campaign for strong kids, families and seniors. Thanks to the Annual Support Campaign, each year the Westfield Area Y provides over $400,000 in direct financial assistance to individuals and families in need to enable their participation at the Y. Approximately 88% of scholarship awards enable children to attend child care and day camp programs while approximately 12% supports membership and program participation.
