51 West Orange High Juniors Join National Honor Society

WEST ORANGE, NJ — They are some of West Orange’s most accomplished student scholars. During a recent ceremony, 51 West Orange High School juniors were inducted into the National Honor Society, bringing pride to the school community.

According to a school news release, the requirements for induction as a junior in the National Honor Society includes a cumulative 3.5 GPA requirement in both freshman and sophomore years. During the application process students must demonstrate the four pillars that form the foundation of the NHS: “Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Character.”

During the May 24 ceremony, National Society Officers Anthony King (President), Jocelyn Cherian (Vice President), Kennedy Fort-Foskey (Secretary), and Sam Banks (Treasurer) lit the candles representing the four pillars of the National Honor Society and led the new members in the oath.
