Accused Mother Killer Pleads Not Guilty In Essex County

Police discovered human remains in Newark that may belong to an East Orange woman.

An Essex County man accused of killing his mother has pleaded not guilty.

On Tuesday, William C. Logan, 37, of East Orange, pleaded not guilty to homicide charges in New Jersey Superior Court through his attorney, NJ.com reported.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, during a missing person investigation for Patricia A. Blocker, 62, of East Orange, detectives located her car in the area of 23 Hartford Street in Newark on Sept. 14.

During a search of the vehicle, police discovered human remains in the trunk that were tentatively identified as Blocker’s.

A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Logan, Blocker’s son.

Police charged Logan with murder and weapons possession.

His bail was set at $2 million.
