Trader Joe’s plans to open four new stores in New Jersey, with future locations planned for Jersey City, Montvale, Parsippany and West Orange.
After weeks of speculation, it was recently confirmed that the grocery chain will open a new location in Parsippany. No specific location or timeline was available for the company’s newest store in Morris County, a spokesperson told Patch.
Trader Joe’s has also recently made headlines for three other upcoming locations in the Garden State:
Currently, Trader Joe’s has New Jersey stores in the following locations: Brick, Bridgewater, Cherry Hill, Clifton, Denville, Edgewater, Florham Park, Freehold, Hoboken, Iselin/Woodbridge, Marlton, Middletown Township, Millburn, North Brunswick, Paramus, Princeton, Shrewsbury, Wayne, Westfield, and Westwood.
The company had an online form for people who want to request a Trader Joe’s stores in their town or city.
“There are no guarantees, but being wanted matters to us,” the website says.
News of a Trader Joe’s store coming to town has typically seen a wide variety of responses.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited for anything in my life,” a commenter posted on Instagram when discussing the Jersey City store. Another customer recently shared a “really positive experience” they had at the Westfield store on Reddit, gushing about its “genuinely kind” staff.
Other customers have been less enthusiastic about their local Trader Joe’s, with parking and floor plans making the list of their common complaints.
Trader Joe’s was recently listed as one of the more expensive grocery store options in New Jersey in a Consumer Reports survey.
