WEST ORANGE, NJ — Will a mixed-use building with nearly 100 apartments get a green light in West Orange? That's a question to be answered another day.

The applicant, 525 Northfield Ave LLC, is proposing the construction of a four-story, mixed-use building at the property, which was formerly home to the Essex House restaurant.

The building would have 1,200 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor, and 95 residential apartment units on the upper floors: 19 of which would be affordable housing. The project would include 165 off-street parking spaces.
