Botched Penis Enlargement: Essex County Woman Pleads Guilty

The Essex County resident injected silicone into a 22-year-old man's penis. He died the next day.

An Essex County woman has admitted that she was responsible for a botched penis enlargement operation that claimed the life of a 22-year-old East Orange man in 2011.

On Tuesday, Kasia Rivera, 34, of East Orange, pleaded guilty to injecting a fatal dose of silicone into the penis of 22-year-old Justin Street at her home.

Street died of a silicone embolism the following day, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Rivera was also charged with performing illegal silicone injections into a woman’s breasts and buttocks in a separate incident, as well as possession of a stun gun.

During jury selection in May, two potential jurors alleged that they were approached by a man associated with Rivera, who offered them $5,000 bribes to favorably influence the outcome of her trial.

In exchange for Rivera’s guilty plea to reckless manslaughter, all other charges will be dropped and prosecutors will recommend a five-year sentence in state prison, NJ.com reported.
