East Orange Man Dies From Possible Gunshot Wounds: Police
A fatal shooting may have taken place on Essex Street in East Orange, prosecutors say.
Authorities are investigating a potential shooting homicide that occurred early Saturday in East Orange.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, East Orange police officers responded to Essex Street around 1:20 a.m. on reports of shots fired.
On arrival, officers found an unresponsive male on the sidewalk, prosecutors stated.

The male, who was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:51 a.m.
Authorities identified the victim as Jackie K. Bush, age 65, of East Orange.

The incident is being investigated by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the East Orange Police Department.
