In Essex County: 2 Kids Injured During Police Car Chase, Crash

A police car chase ended with a crash near the Newark and East Orange border on Tuesday, injuring two young children, authorities stated.

According to the Newark Police Department, the chase began around 8:30 a.m. when officers spotted a Honda Accord they believed was wanted for an armed robbery.

The vehicle then reportedly sped away from the officers before crashing near Oak Street and Arsdale Place, authorities stated.

Police took a man and two women – one of whom is pregnant – into custody, ABC New York reported.

Police also found two children, a one-year-old and a three-year-old, inside the vehicle, authorities stated.

Emergency responders transported the children to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, RLS Media reported.
