Flood Watch Impacts West Orange, Several Inches Of Rain Possible (See Timeline)

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Things are about to get soggy in West Orange, forecasters say.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flood Watch and a Hazardous Weather Outlook for West Orange this week. Other towns in New Jersey are also expected to see heavy rainfall and gusty winds.

According to the NWS, several inches of rain are expected to fall between Monday night and Thursday. A regional Flood Watch will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday and last until 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

Monday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. South wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Monday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 11pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. Light and variable wind becoming south around 5 mph in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. Southeast wind 7 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Tuesday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 67. Southeast wind 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Wednesday: Showers likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 11am. High near 78. South wind around 9 mph becoming north in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Wednesday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then showers likely. Low around 65. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday: A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
