“What an absolute honor to receive the 2022 Legislator of the Year Award from New Jersey Citizen Action, presented by the incomparable Pat Morrissy (a legend in community building). The award is so special because it honors the work we have done together for the betterment of people through the creation of true equity solutions. @NUCA is also one of the organizations I was involved with as a housing advocate long before running for public office. I remember meeting Phyllis @salowekaye and thinking, "she is not playing, give this woman whatever she is asking for to better the community," and @bbrgram who is just so knowledgeable and committed to helping people...I have always appreciated the organization and the people.”

The recently redrawn 34th district includes the municipalities of Belleville, Bloomfield, East Orange, Glen Ridge, Nutley and Orange.
