A small fire broke out shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday in the attic of a two-and-a-half story residential home at 7 Grant Terrace in West Orange.
Township fire officials said the cause of the fire likely was a window air conditioner. Preliminary reports indicate it appears to be accidental.
Officials said the fire was under control by about 9:30 p.m.
