Missing Essex County Boy Found Safe, Turned Over To DCP: Police
East Orange police said the Newark boy was found safe and unharmed.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — UPDATE: Authorities said that 8-year-old Niyad Robinson of Newark, who was last seen on Sunday, Sept. 16 in East Orange, was found Friday in Newark by police and brought to East Orange Police Headquarters. He was determined to be safe and unharmed. Robinson will be turned over to the Division of Child Protection and Permanency for further investigation. This is a developing story. Authorities in Essex County, New Jersey are asking for the public’s help finding a missing 8-year-old boy.
According to the East Orange Police Department, Niyad Robinson, 8, of Newark, was last seen in East Orange at 2:54 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16 in the area of William Street and North Grove Street.

Robinson is 4 feet and 40 pounds. He was wearing black pants, a white t-shirt and black shoes (see below photo).
He is known to frequent the areas of Chadwick Avenue, Peshine Avenue, Avon Avenue, Astor Street and Jelliff Avenue in Newark, authorities said.

While police are actively searching for Niyad, East Orange Police Chief Phyllis Bindi is urging anyone with information to call the EOPD Communications Center at 973-266-5000 or the Real-Time Crime Prevention Center at 973-266-5014.
