Police Searching for Suspect in Robbery

West Orange police are searching for a suspect in a strong arm robbery of a 57-year-old female in the Kmart parking lot off of Prospect Avenue.

Police are looking for a black male suspect wearing a do-rag and sunglasses who allegedly fled the scene driving a green minivan, following the 8:47 a.m. incident Sunday. As of noon Monday, the suspect is still at large.

Jessica Glicker, township public information officer, said the incident is under investigation.

"We can confirm there was a purse snatching at this location, but no weapon was involved," she said. 

Glicker said police are interviewing two witnesses and are working with Montclair police as the suspect was last seen driving in that direction. She did not know the contents of the purse.
