Power Outages Hit West Orange And Essex County On Tuesday

See where the electricity went out and when it's expected to return.

While thunderstorms and heavy rain fell across Essex County on Tuesday morning, PSE&G reported power blackouts across the region via its online outage map.

As of 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday:

  • In Glen Ridge, an outage affecting 648 customers in the area of Belleville Avenue and Ridgewood Avenue is expected to clear at 10:30 a.m.
  • In Montclair, an outage affecting 47 customers on Heller Way is expected to clear at 10 a.m.
  • In West Caldwell, an outage affecting fewer than five customers in the area of Fairfield and Woodside avenues is expected to clear at 1 p.m.
  • In Caldwell, an outage affecting fewer than five customers in the area of Cleveland and Whitfield streets is expected to clear at 1:15 p.m.
  • In West Orange, an outage affecting nine customers on O’Connor Circle is expected to clear at 12:30 p.m., an outage in the area of White Street and North Jefferson Street affecting fewer than five customers is expected to clear at 12:15 p.m., and an outage affecting fewer than five customers on Eagle Ridge Way is expected to clear at 1 p.m.
  • In South Orange, multiple outages hit the area east of South Mountain Reservation, affecting about 75 customers from Mountain Drive to Brentwood Drive.
  • Multiple outages hit Newark, including an outage affecting about 63 customers on Dillard Court (expected to clear at 11:45 a.m.), an outage affecting about 41 customers on Brill Street (expected to clear at 3 a.m. on Wednesday)
