Safety Tips as Tax Revaluation Starts

Real-time information allows residents to view workers

As West Orange undergoes its first county-ordered property tax revaluation since 1984, the township-hired Appraisal Systems, Inc. (ASI), will offer a real-time process that allows residents to go online and see where inspectors are scheduled to be working in the township.

Inspectors from ASI will conduct interior and exterior inspections in the township and will photograph the exterior properties. All inspectors are provided with authorized photo identification. These badges have an inspector number with their first and last name and their picture. A list of inspectors is featured on the ASI website with the streets where they are working.

"The safety of our residents is our number one priority during this revaluation process," said West Orange Mayor Robert Parisi. "Part of the reason we chose Appraisal Systems, Inc., to handle this process was because of the professional measures they take to ensure the safety of our community."
