SUEZ and The Shauger Group Donate Thanksgiving Meals to Families

For the third straight year, SUEZ and The Shauger Group (TSG) teamed up to donate Thanksgiving meals to families in need. Always making philanthropy a priority, SUEZ and TSG were proud to partner on a meaningful project to benefit local families, while spreading the giving spirit during the holiday season.

On Wednesday, November 12, 2020, two weeks before Thanksgiving, SUEZ and TSG delivered 450 Thanksgiving dinners to the municipalities of Orange, Jersey City, and Kearny, to be distributed to families for Thanksgiving. TSG also donated 150 additional turkeys to underserved families in East Orange and Bloomfield.

“This year, more than ever, families are struggling to put food on the table,” said Donald Shauger, Executive Vice President of TSG. “The COVID-19 pandemic has made the normal day-to-day struggles for families that much more difficult—the pandemic has left many people jobless, homeless, and in financial hardship. With so many people living in uncertainty, fearing for their health and well-being, and wondering where their next meal will come from, this year has been a reminder of the importance of helping others in need. During such a challenging year, people may be feeling like they’re at lowest point of their lives—and yet simple acts of kindness may go a long way to supporting them and helping them get through these hard times.”

The donated Thanksgiving meals included turkeys, as well as non-perishable trimmings such as canned carrots, green beans, and corn; jarred and boxed gravy; boxed mashed potatoes; boxed stuffing; corn muffin mix; and canned cranberry sauce.

Last year and the year before, SUEZ and TSG also teamed up to donate hundreds of turkey dinners to the local community at Thanksgiving.
