The Faces of WO-Town: Cecil Brooks III
Series profiles West Orange residents who help change the township
Cecil Brooks III knows jazz. The Pittsburgh, Pa., native has lived around the world and has played in some of the top spots in New York and Los Angeles. This former Cosby Show drummer brings not only his talent, but those of Bill Cosby, T.S. Monk, Herbie Hancock (who signed Brooks' piano) and numerous other musicians, to West Orange.
A cigar in one hand and drum sticks in the other, Brooks has topped the jazz charts for years. His swanky, yet self-controlled demeanor calls record producers to line up at his club in the Valley Arts District.
It's such talent and artistic expression that makes Brooks West Orange Patch's first face of WO-Town.
