WEST ORANGE, NJ — West Orange firefighters helped to provide aid and comfort to the residents of a local affordable housing building following a storm-caused power outage last week, authorities say.
The power outage took place at the Renna House on Gaston Street and forced the temporary relocation of all residents to the building’s community room, where temporary air conditioning units were set up in preparation to move the residents to a shelter for the night, township officials stated via social media.
Several members of the West Orange Fire Department responded to the scene and lent aid and comfort to the residents, town officials said.
