West Orange Elementary School Welcomes New Principal
Redwood Elementary School in West Orange has a new interim principal: Heather Carr.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Redwood Elementary School in West Orange has a new interim principal: Heather Carr.
Carr will officially take over on Wednesday for Bruce Arcurio, who recently resigned, according to a statement from the West Orange School District.
Carr has served as interim principal for Hazel Elementary School in May and June of 2016 and as interim assistant principal at Washington Elementary School for the 2016-2017 school year.

According to district administrators:
“Carr has a wealth of teaching and administrative experience. During her career she has taught at both the elementary and middle school levels. She has spent many years in the neighboring Bloomfield School District, as a teacher, principal, and director. Prior to retirement, Dr. Carr served as an elementary principal of Berkeley School where she spent four years working with the school community to address the unique learning needs of her students.”
Carr will have the opportunity to transition with Arcurio during the week of August 28, administrators said.

Administrators plan to begin the search for a permanent principal in the late fall or early winter.
