West Orange Man Allegedly Spat Blood At Officer: Police
North Plainfield cops arrested a West Orange man at a local QuickChek after he allegedly spat blood in the face of an officer, police say.
WEST ORANGE, NJ — North Plainfield police arrested a West Orange man at a QuickChek on Friday after he allegedly spat blood in the face of an officer, authorities say.
According to the North Plainfield Police Department, after receiving a call from store personnel, officers responded to the QuickChek on Somerset Street around 1:29 a.m. and found Jordan Keats, 26, of West Orange, sleeping in the bathroom.
After waking Keats and running an information check, police found that he had two outstanding warrants and tried to place him under arrest, authorities said.

According to authorities, at that time, Keats allegedly attempted to resist arrest and had to be pepper sprayed and handcuffed. As the officers were escorting Keats from the building, he allegedly spat blood in one of their faces, police stated.
Authorities charged Keats with throwing bodily fluids at an officer and transported him to Somerset County Jail.
