West Orange Man Arrested: Cops Investigate Homicide, Strangulation
A West Orange man was charged with manslaughter in connection with the apparent strangulation death of a Livingston woman, authorities say.

West Orange, NJ – Livingston and Essex County authorities have arrested a West Orange man in connection with a possible homicide that took place in Livingston last week.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Livingston police responded to the West Cedar Street home of Lindsay A. Ulyate, 32, around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday to find her unresponsive.
She was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:11 a.m., authorities said.

Authorities ruled the incident a homicide following an autopsy, finding that the cause of death was strangulation, prosecutors stated.
On Tuesday, police arrested Dwayne Birchler, 33, of West Orange, in connection with the incident and charged him with manslaughter.

Birchler’s bail was set at $150,000 and he was transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility.
