West Orange Man’s Body Found On Sandy Hook Shoreline: Police

A West Orange man has been identified as the deceased person who was found on a Sandy Hook shoreline, police said.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A West Orange man has been identified as the deceased person who was found on a Sandy Hook shoreline last week, police said.

On Friday, the body of an adult male was found on Beach D, a spokesperson for the Gateway National Recreation Area, told Patch.

The Middlesex Regional Medical Examiner's Office took custody of the body and performed an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death, the spokesperson said.

Authorities later identified the man as Daniel Carroll, 62. His car was found a short distance from the scene; his death is not being considered suspicious, state police said Monday.
