West Orange Man Says Teen Electric Shocked, Tried To Rob Him
A West Orange man reported that a teen shocked him with a stungun-like device and tried to rob his phone as he was walking in South Orange.

West Orange, NJ – A West Orange man reported that a teen shocked him with a stungun-like device and tried to rob his phone as he was walking in South Orange last week.
According to the South Orange Police Department, the alleged incident took place around 9:10 p.m. on March 17, as the man was walking on West Montrose Avenue.
The victim told police that a male about 17-years-old, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and riding a BMX-style bicycle began shocking him with a handheld electrical device while demanding that he hand over his cell phone.

After struggling with the man, the juvenile gave up his robbery attempt and fled the scene on his bike, heading east on West Montrose Avenue.
Detectives are investigating the incident, police stated.
