West Orange Music Teachers Show Off Their Chops At Concert (VIDEOS)

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Want to know why young West Orange musicians seem to be continually reaching new heights? Check out their teachers in action.

Earlier this month, several local educators in the West Orange Public School District performed in the annual West Orange Music Faculty Scholarship Concert, held at Liberty Middle School.

The teachers entertained a crowd with a range of classical and contemporary selections (watch some videos below).

Organized by Lou Quagliato, supervisor of fine arts, and emceed by West Orange High School music teacher John Hellyer, the event was free and open to the public. Donations were accepted for an annual music scholarship, which is given to a graduating senior from West Orange High School.

“It’s always a great feeling to bring joy and excitement to the community through performance,” Quagliato said.

“Whether it's music, dance, theater, or any other form of artistic expression, the connection between the performer and the audience can create powerful memories that last a lifetime,” Quagliato added.
