WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange Board of Education has nailed down its second big work agreement with an employee union in a month, administrators say.
The board’s negotiation team announced Thursday that a memorandum of agreement was signed with their counterparts with Local 68, which represents custodial, transportation, maintenance and utility workers in the district.
The successor collective negotiations agreement covers the period of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2024. Both parties will present the tentative deal and accompanying salary guides to their respective memberships for review and ratification.

In late December, the board announced it reached a separate deal with the local teachers union for a new, five-year work agreement. The collective negotiations agreement with the West Orange Education Association will run from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2025.
