West Orange Shillelagh Club to Host 51st Dinner at Mayfair Farms
Honorees and Entertainment Announced for May 4th Dinner/Dance Celebrating long time West Orange Charitable Foundation

The Essex County Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh Announce Their 51st Annual Dinner Dance and Name the Honorees for 2019.
WEST ORANGE, N.J.-- The Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, Essex Division are planning their 51st Annual Dinner Dance for Saturday, May 4th at Mayfair Farms in West Orange. The event will begin at 6:00 with a cocktail hour with dinner and dancing to follow at 7:30 p.m.
This year’s Honorees are Shillelagh Men of the Year Oliver "Ollie" Browne, a resident of Summit and Lawrence "Larry" Lonergan of Verona. Both Browne and Lonergan are long-time members of The Friendly Sons and Larry Lonergan is a Past President. Honored as "Friend of the Friendly Sons" this year is Julie Wester of Hoboken, a generous and dedicated supporter of our Order, a distinguished member of the community, a Seton Hall Prep faculty member and an individual whose Irish traditions can be traced back many years.
The Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh are known as one of the premier Irish organizations in NJ and the Tri-State area. They have a large clubhouse in West Orange with a bar open to the public which is known for its hospitality, welcoming atmosphere and its diversity of entertainment offerings and well attended trivia matches on alternating Fridays. The Shillelagh club is host to many Irish groups in the area including the Ancient Order of Hibernians; the Women of Irish Heritage and The Essex County Police and Fire Emerald Society. Additionally, the Friendly Sons support various charitable organizations including the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to find a cure for childhood cancer, Avon Walk for Life and Wounded Warrior events. They also sponsor scholarships to several very deserving young adults to assist with their High School and College educations.

Tickets to the event are available for $100 and include cocktail hour, 5 1/2 hour open bar, dinner, dancing to The McLean Ave Band. There will also be performances by The Shillelagh Pipe Band and the DeNogla-Ardmore School of Irish Dance. There will be commemorative Ad Journal highlighting sponsors of the event if you would like to participate. You can support the organization or the honorees with an ad or by purchasing tickets and joining them for an evening of exceptional Irish entertainment.
