West Orange Teens Make Wooden Toys To Donate To Kids
Handmade toys included cars, trucks – and even a sewing machine.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — For the past several years, West Orange High School woodworking and design instructor Max Grossman has tasked his students with a special assignment: to build sustainable, working, wooden toys for children during the holidays.
This year was no exception, with Grossman’s students rolling up their sleeves once again in the name of community spirit. Handmade toys included cars, trucks, creatures – and even a sewing machine.
Mayor Susan McCartney recently stopped by the school to thank the class for their efforts.
