A Unique Approach to Personal Training

Unique Training Group offers personalized training sessions and nutritional coaching

Personal trainers Tamir Greenberger and Jason Davignon decided to combine their physical fitness skills and knowledge to create a new, inexpensive training group in Westwood – . Greenberger worked at and Davignon was the head trainer at Fitness 19 in River Vale prior to opening their own training group.

“The weight loss industry is very manipulative and greedy,” Greenberger said. “Personal training is the most effective way to combat the obesity epidemic and improve overall health and fitness.”

The majority of available information about losing weight and increasing strength is false, he said. Some sites say eating six meals each day is more beneficial, while others promote just two meals. Every weight-loss company is only focused on increasing their profits, not benefiting their customers, he said.

“Americans spend about $150 billion annually on weight loss products. Everyone is trying to sell something and contradicting information appears everywhere,” Greenberger said.

He said there is a stigma attached to the word diet, but in reality, losing weight is simple.

“We want to show people how they can ignore everything they ever learned about weight loss and being healthy and teach them how easy it is,” he said. “You can go eat pizza, hamburgers, ice cream, whatever pleases you, and still lose weight.”

UTG’s goal is to provide clients with the most accurate information and hands-on exercises for the lowest cost possible.

“Most businesses are designed to take the consumer’s money and run,” Greenberger said. “It is our passion to actually assist people, with real results, at the most affordable rates.”

Their rates for half hour training sessions start at just $15.

“Try to find any other business that is able to charge as low as we can. The lowest you will find is $30 per session,” Greenberger said. “We charge half that.”

“We have the cheapest session rates around because we really care and want to help our clients,” Davignon said.

Unique Training Group offers small group sessions focusing on TRX and Battle Rope, as well as kettle bells and some other free weight exercises. These four- to six-person groups are fun and effective ways of increasing weight loss, according to Greenberger. They also provide clients with one-on-one personal training sessions and nutritional coaching.

Greenberger is in charge of nutrition and general administrative tasks for the training group, while Davignon is the head personal trainer and advertising chair. The two share equal responsibility in running the company.

As a Marine Corps veteran, Davignon is trained in mixed martial arts and has been lifting weights for more than 12 years. He uses his rare experiences to provide clients with unusual but enjoyable full-body workouts.
