'American Idol' Alum Due In Court Sept. 3 On Assault Charge
Constantine Maroulis allegedly kicked the mother of his child in the groin in self-defense during an argument earlier this month

‘American Idol’ alumnus Constantine Maroulis is due in Wyckoff Municipal Court Sept. 3 for allegedly assaulting the mother of his child.
The former ”American Idol” star was arrested earlier this month after a fight allegedly broke out between himself and Angel Reed.
Reed, the mother of Maroulis’ 4-year-old daughter called 911 from their Wyckoff home, claiming he allegedly kicked her in the groin and threw her to the ground. Maroulis claims he acted in self-defense because his wife allegedly attacked him after he told her he was leaving her. Maroulis claims he was injured on his right thigh when Reed threw something at him.

Maroulis placed sixth on the sixth season of “American Idol.” He starred in the Broadway musical “Rock of Ages” as Drew and was nominated for a Tony Award for the role.
Maroulis also allegedly e-mailed Reed earlier this month, which violates a restraining order prohibiting any contact with her. He was due in Bergen County Family Court this week on that violation charge.
