Berkeley Students 'Read for the Record'

The Westwood students participated in the program by Jumpstart

, which is part of the Westwood Regional School District, recently celebrated Jumpstart’s “Read for the Record” program. Each class invited a special guest reader, including teachers, administrators, and parents, to read the book Llama, Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney. In addition, teachers and students were encouraged to wear something red to celebrate.

Organized by speech teacher Gina Cush and media center specialist Elizabeth Dunkelman, the entire school prepared for this event, including art, music and physical education classes. Likewise, classroom teachers connected the program to their lessons, resulting in the reinforcement of writing skills and connections to the reading.
