Board of Ed to Reorganize Thursday

Members will choose president and vice president

The Westwood Regional Board of Education has its organizational meeting scheduled for Thursday night before a regular meeting.

The winners of the school election will take their oaths of office and board members will select a president and vice president for the year. They will also vote on the meeting schedule for the 2011-2012 school year.

During the regular meeting, Assistant Principal David Tankard is scheduled to give a presentation about middle and high school elective programming.

Board members are expected to vote on a resolution to accept the retirement of Spanish teacher Judith Horowitz. They are also set to hand out awards to two students.

The organizational meeting is scheduled to begin Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Hurley Theatre of Westwood Jr./Sr. High School, 701 Ridgewood Road, Washington Township. The regular meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in the same location.
