Former Westwood Councilman, Wife Dead In Apparent Suicides: Prosecutor
Bob Miller admitted in court that he sold fraudulent training certificates to masseurs to facilitate prostitution at massage parlors.

WESTWOOD, N.J. — Authorities were investigating the apparent suicides of Robert W. Miller, a former Ridgewood and Westwood councilman who pleaded guilty in February to knowingly selling fake certificates to masseurs who were engaging in prostitution, and his wife, Aecha "Gina" Miller, at their home home Thursday afternoon.
The Bergen County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification were at the Kinderkamack Road home of Miller and his wife, Anthony Cureton, a sheriff's department spokesman said. Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said the deaths were not suspicious and that they appear to be suicides. The county medical examiner would confirm the manner of the deaths, Grewal said.
BCPO is assisting Westwood PD with investigation at 430 Kinderkamack Rd. Male and female found deceased. Both deaths appear to be suicides.

Miller owned and operated RMW Associates Inc., and for between $500 and $2,500, provided massage therapy training certificates to anyone in New Jersey who was not trained as a masseur, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman said.
Miller admitted that he knew many of the parlors were fronts for prostitution, Fishman said when Miller pleaded guilty.
Under a plea agreement, Miller agreed to forfeit nearly $96,000 in proceeds related to the criminal activity. He faced a maximum sentence of five years in federal prison, but, The Record reported, he was expected to be sentenced to 18 to 24 months. He was scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 14, according to the report.
Miller resigned from the Westwood Council in 2015 after seven years of service. He served on the Ridgewood Village Council from 1996 t0 1998.
