Cardinals Fly to First Victory
The Westwood Cardinals dismantled the Dumont Huskies 33-8 and earned their first victory of 2011
After coming off a very last week, the Cardinals of Westwood rolled into Dumont with a chip on their shoulder and something to prove.
Westwood came out strong marching down the field on their first possession and opened up a 7-0 lead when quarterback Jeremy Taylor walked into the end zone on a quarterback sneak, scoring the first of his three rushing touchdowns.
Westwood's offensive running game was on fire with Joe Spies rushing for more than 100 yards and Pete Creamer adding 72 yards rushing and 65 yards receiving.

But the big story of the night was the Cardinal defense which held the Huskies to under 100 total yards of offense, plus added three sacks by senior Drew Kaplan and an interception to cap off a 33-8 victory.
