Dog House Saloon Will Raise Funds for Sick Children Sunday
The event is in honor of George Odenwaller, who was a bartender at the Washington Township establishment

The in Washington Township hosts a fund-raiser annually, but this year there is a closer connection to the establishment. The inaugural George Odenwaller Memorial Fund charity event, named after a former bartender, will be held Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.
Odenwaller, who grew up in River Vale, was friends with Dog House owner Amy Glock and also did bartending for her. He died unexpectedly last year and his parents set up a memorial fund in his name. They approached Glock who has organized the fund-raiser along with the help of one of his best friends, Michelle Gacheney-Kidd.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Valley Home Care's Butterflies Program, which helps infants and children who are suffering from life-threatening and limiting illnesses, along with their families. Glock said 10 percent of the money will also be going to Christ Lutheran Church in Woodcliff Lake. The George Odenwaller Memorial Fund was formed through that church.
