Knights of Columbus Annual Charity Picnic

The Washington Township Knights of Columbus are hosting their annual charity picnic Sunday, Sept. 11 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Pfliegler Pavilion and Picnic Grove in the rear of 79 Pascack Road, Washington Township.

Half the profits will benefit troops in Iraq and Afghanistan while the other half will go to local charities.

There will be activities for children and adults. The Knights of Columbus State Council is sponsoring a Soccer Challenge for boys and girls ages 10-14. The free event is a penalty kick contest. Winners in each age bracket will advance to regional and state competitions.

There will be plenty of food for everyone, including flank steak, barbecue ribs, chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage and peppers, clams on the half shell, salad, watermelon, soft drinks, coffee and adult beverages.

Adult tickets purchased in advance are $25 and $30 at the door. Seniors pay $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Tickets for children 5-12 cost $5 and under 5 are free. There is a family cap of $50 for parents and children under 21.
