The Township of Washington Library is presenting an art exhibit by Robert Bader in the program room for the months of April and May. The exhibit consists of oil paintings of landscapes and portraits as well as several watercolor paintings.
A resident of Hillsdale, Mr. Bader worked for 45 years as a scenic artist for television. Some of his watercolor paintings are from his assignments in the U.S. and abroad with the Today Show. Besides the Today Show, he also worked on the Perry Como Show at the Ziegfeld Theater as well as numerous other TV programs.
Mr. Bader says that "my home, family and property have always been my inspiration. I bought my property because of the view of the Pascack Brook; we are on the bend of
it. I transformed a steep bare hill into three levels with stone walls, a patio and railroad tie steps leading from one level to another. I planted every tree and bush. The different seasons have inspired me to capture it on canvas and in poetry. Painting my property affects me deeply and remembering the scenes from my travels also brings back great memories. I am fortunate to be able to paint whatever moves me and I hope others enjoy seeing it."
