Registration for Westwood Recreation fall programs begins Monday, Sept. 12 at 9 a.m. for borough residents at the Community Center, 55 Jefferson Ave., or online at www.westwoodnj.gov. Non-residents are welcome to register after Sept. 19 if there are openings for an additional $25. The Westwood Recreation Department is offering two new fall programs for children. Crafty Kitchen class will allow students to prepare recipes and create crafts that highlight various skills according to each age group. All classes will be held on Thursdays beginning Oct. 5: ages 3-5 (with parent) from 1 to 2 p.m., grades K-2 from 3:45 to 5 p.m., grades 3-5 from 5 to 6:15 p.m. The cost is $105.
New Field Hockey Clinics will teach all the basics of the sport. Clinics are held Sundays from Sept. 18 to Nov. 6 at Westwood High School. Fourth through sixth grade will meet from noon to 1:15 p.m. and seventh- and eighth-graders from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m. Westwood High School Varsity Head Coach Erin Lach and her staff will run the clinics. No experience is necessary. The cost is $50.

The Recreation Department is also sponsoring the following programs this fall: Art Classes for children ages 4 to sixth grade on Tuesdays, Mommy/Daddy and Me for children ages 18-36 months on Thursday mornings, dance classes for children ages 3-12 on Mondays, Soccer Squirts for children ages 3-6 on Mondays and Sport Squirts for children ages 3-6 on Wednesdays in Brookside Park, Golf Lessons on Thursdays for children in grades kindergarten through eight, Tennis Lessons for children in grades K-8 on Sundays and Mondays, Piano Lessons for children ages 3-6 on Thursdays, Magic for children in grades K-5 on Wednesdays and Girls Volleyball on Tuesdays and Thursdays for grades 5-8.
Adult classes are as follows: Boot Camp for Men and Women Fitness Class on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Voorhis Park, Open Gym Basketball on Mondays for ages 18-29 and Wednesdays ages 30 and up, Tennis Lessons on Sundays, Recreational Volleyball on Tuesday evenings and Power Volleyball on Wednesday evenings.
