Ex NY Yankee Will Bag Groceries In Hillsdale To Help End Hunger

Billy Sample, Mayor John Ruocco and others are participating in honor of National Hunger Action Month.

HILLSDALE, NJ — Former New York Yankee Billy Sample will help bag groceries at ShopRite Wednesday in honor of National Hunger Action Month.

The event is part of ShopRite's Partners In Caring Help Bag Hunger Day. The event helps raise awareness about hunger at ShopRite stores in the tri-state area and Delaware and Maryland.

Hillsdale Mayor John Ruocco, Councilman Zoltan Horvath Woodcliff Lake Police Chief Anthony Jannicelli and State Assembly representatives Robert Auth and Holly Schepisi will also bag groceries at 3 p.m.

Sample played Major League Baseball for nine years. He was with the Yankees in 1985. He played in 59 games and had 40 hits.

New York Giant Landon Collins will bag groceries at the ShopRite in North Bergen.
